I am a believer of process. Not having a solidified idea of how my piece will come to life, but selecting a few materials that have potential in complimenting one another, I start making. In the moments of creating, listening to my intuition and just piecing things together occur. Pausing and reflecting on what has just been made, resources are pulled out to gain inspiration. Textures and colors found in nature informs my work. Through simple means, I look at ways of manipulating both precious and nonprecious materials to recreate these natural findings. What proceeds is the hope of creating a new life and meaning to materials.2010-01-05
